Installed two different video cards In SLI (Nvidia 8800GT's) primary cards are Nvidia 560ti's problems remainedĪs I mentioned I have been building systems for many years and will do the obvious possible fixes but hoping you had someĮxperience with these specific types of SLI problems and Asus MB's. Called Sam at Estore and no bios chips available and no specific eta from Asus in Indiannaĩ. swapped out 2 different zigmatech 1000W power supplies - no changeĨ. loaded 4 various games and all created same reboot/crashħ. loaded three different hdd's with Win7 Ultra 64bit - no change in SLI problemĦ.

tested 3rd slot and system ran with one video card - PCIE slot goodĤ, loaded 4 different Nvidia drivers from 310.xx to current 331.xx - no change of SLI behaviorĥ. applied another Asus bridge - no change of problemĢ. The problem only occurs when running in SLI and trying to enter games that support SLI. lol following is what I have done with no change in Reboot /crash BTW after shutting off reboot on error to get BSOD info it just shuts down all video to monitor. BTW clock is still holding. On single video card no problems however we buy ROG to play games and SLI is a main feature.Haven't seen a thread on this and can't believe I'm the only lucky one. I think in your case, best to get to the bottom of the instability first. Sorry for the long post.īTW yes, restarts when jumper removed.

To determine if Hardware or software related used different drive which had been playing FC3 (ssd load) and it rebooted also telling me it was Hardware related.? Just waiting now and will report back. This is after playing for an hour before with no issues in SLI FC3. As after leaving sys idle for a couple of hours and just starting FC3 I get reboot and lost 560ti all over again. Not sure what is going on, MB, 560ti's SLI compatibility issue or what. then shortly the clock started losing time but not frozen.Ĭhanged to two 8800GT's and have been playing FC3 & GW2 in SLI with no issues and clock now ok again for three days. After shut down and restart it reappears but then all games reboot sys at start of game. I have since reapplied the fix third day and counting. However I had previously made it 3 weeks and then endured a nasty crash/reboot of sys with a Buzz from hardware while using 2 560ti's in SLI while trying to play BF4 which is seriously broken.and on reboot one of my 560ti's is missing. I may be your first as I had the MEI 1724 installed after previous clock issues and did the hot reflash & clock reset as per you instructions. So far, nobody that had the issue before has reported issues since they've installed the new driver. If that is indeed the case, the boards won't be shipping with it resolved as the issue simply requires you to use the correct driver.

In which case all you need to do is download and install the correct driver as listed in the first post.

Posted by you read the thread you'll see that the issue might simply be caused by the Intel MEI driver. I have done all steps, but the issue persists. :)ģ) The instructions I posted in this thread simply reset the ME FW, to get the clock started again. Unless of course its a combination of ME FW and MEI driver in which case we will need to look into an update.

Still waiting for the permanent fix in the BIOS.Going to keep you updated!Ī few things to bear in mind for future reference:ġ) This has nothing to do with the CMOS battery, so don't waste your money replacing them for this.Ģ) If this comes down to the MEI driver, there will be no UEFI (BIOS) update for it, as it's the MEI driver in the OS people need to install to fix it. After updating MEI driver it seems that this behavior has stopped (Atleast for 5 hours now) which is good and resolves some problems with programs, which don't like the jumping time.

Also the Windows time kept switching to some random time till now. I have already replaced 2 Batteries and reset CMOS 3 times but the clock still ends up freezing after some hours or days. Hello, I'm running Z87-PRO with I7-4770K (OC). This will clear the Management Engine.Ĥ) Power up the system, enter UEFI, set the clock and then save and exit.ĥ) Update MEI driver to Version 9. You will know if it is off because if you leave it for 5 seconds it should not POST~BOOT - this means it is in standby.ģ) Clear CMOS (Clear RTC) for 10 seconds. Make sure the board is off before you go to the next step in this list.

Standby does not mean the board is actually running, standby means the board has power, but you have not pressed the power button to turn it on. You will see the MB standby lights on (boards with start buttons onboard will be lit). Only the motherboard is powered off and in "standby". Is your motherboard suffering from the malady of a frozen time clock in UEFI?ġ) Reflash the latest UEFI, using EZ Flash 2 or USB BIOS flashback.Ģ) When the system POSTs, enter UEFI.
